Set on the edge of the Peak District, the farm is famous for its Hilly Billy Ice Cream – sample the many flavours all made on the farm using the milk the farm’s own dairy herd. Reddish Vale Farm is a family run business and was established in 1997. The farm was set up to give children an insight into the countryside environment. Set within 70 acres of rolling countryside a few miles north of Bolton, Smithills Open Farm is a family run business providing homes for 25 types of animals from cows, pigs, goats, sheep, rabbits, llamas, owls, eagles, donkeys, ducks and deer. You can get up close to the animals, and feed and hold them.
