Two years ago, local mums Lesley and Sam set up A Moment in Time to enable year 11 pupils to attend their school prom by providing them with outfits they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford. Since then, they have helped more than 150 families across the North West through their provision of dresses, suits and shoes.
Lesley and Sam don’t receive any funding, and rely on the kind donations of businesses and members of the public to operate A Moment In Time.
The pair are now campaigning to raise £2000 to allow them to continue the service this year:
“As you all know prom is a once in a lifetime event, everyone should be able to attend and have an outfit to wear. We need your help to raise funds to pay for rent of the unit and purchase of dress rails and overheads.
We are a non-profit organisation trying to make everyone’s prom special and we need your help to do this.
We are looking for donations so that every child can have the experience and choice of outfit to go to their school prom.
Our service is access by referral only through pastoral services in schools, social services and other organisations who have contact with children.
All donations are greatly appreciated.”
Donations can be made via JustGiving here.
