Free Workshop Ladies Reusable Sanitary Towels – Charity Sewing Event

January 30, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Following a news story about a woman who burst into tears when a gentleman at a food bank handed her a box of pads, I become suddenly aware that this is an expensive monthly event in a woman’s life. Whether she is homeless, or on a low income, it’s recognised now that buying disposable pads is not a priority for ladies who have been found to use newspapers and old, dirty rags. This can lead to dangerous adverse effects, not excluding Toxic Shock which can kill or seriously affect organs.

Help me sew as many towels as we can on the 30th January to be distributed amongst the homeless and those on a low income.

The event is free and material is provided, please bring your sewing machine, although I will have 2 available to use, with walking feet set up.

Please take part in our raffle/tombola to help cover the costs of the material. Prym and Simplicity have extended their generosity once again and have donated many items to the cause. SO if you even fancied playing with snap fasteners, come and try. I will have the walking foot on my machines if you cannot bring your own

We have been offered yummy homemade cakes to keep you going and refreshments are free.

Please take the pattern home with you, should you wish and in your spare time, make some for yourself, as gifts for your daughters and if possible, more for the charities who distribute support to those in need.

Many thanks for your support
