This week (3rd-9th May) is Maternal Mental Health Week. It is an annual week long campaign dedicated to talking about and raising awareness of mental health problems during and after pregnancy. It’s led by the Perinatal Mental Health Partnership who launched the first ever UK Maternal Health Matters Awareness week back in 2014.
The theme this year is Journeys to Recovery. The theme seems extra poignant given that Covid has taken so much from us all over the last year, not least expectant mums or those who have had a baby in some of the most isolating and difficult circumstances.
