E-Safety is becoming more and more important in today’s world. The recent Growing Up Digital report from Anne Longfield, Children’s Commissioner for England explored children’s and parent relationships with the online world. Stockport Libraries and the Continuing Education Service have partnered up to deliver E-Safety Sessions aimed at Parents and Children.

Four Libraries will be hosting free, one-off events covering the following areas:

The Importance of Limiting Tech Time
The reasons for limiting the amount of time your children spend using tech, the impact that the use of tech has on their social/ mental/ personal development and alternative activities centred around learning and play. Idea sharing and collaboration.

Cybersafety
Gain understanding in how to use the internet safely as a family; who we communicate with, why and which devices we can use and how digital skills can help with parents and children learning whilst safely limiting the use of certain websites. It will also cover how to report inappropriate content and how to be a good Digital Citizen.

Parents and children are encouraged to bring their own devices to gain the most from the event, however devices and PCs will be made available at each session.
